Accessibility Statement
Effective date: October 21, 2026
Our goal
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most often used to judge websites under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Both the English and the Spanish pages are built and checked the same way.
What we did
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, starts with a skip link and shows a visible focus ring.
- Each page declares its language, so screen readers read English and Spanish with the right voice.
- Text and buttons meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are announced in words, not only in color.
- The fee calculator announces its new total to screen readers, and the filters in the tracker, the library and the attorney directory announce how many results remain.
- Policy statuses are written out in words next to their color.
- Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Photos have text alternatives; decorative shapes are hidden from screen readers.
- Pages work at 320 pixels wide and at 200% zoom without sideways scrolling.
Known limits
The bot check on the consultation form is provided by Cloudflare. It usually completes without any action, but we do not control its markup.
